Kristin Cavallari talks the pressures of fame and reality TV

She rose to fame on the hit MTV show, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, before going on to star on The Hills.

And now Kristin Cavallari has spoken about the pressures of fame and reality TV, saying she never ‘felt secure’ in the entertainment world.

The 33-year-old penned a passage for The Game Changers book and said launching her own jewellery brand helped her ‘find what she’s supposed to be doing’ in life.

Kristin said that after appearing on Laguna Beach as a teen, she wanted to be an actress, but it’s a rocky business.

‘The entertainment world is so up and down so I never really felt secure in that,’ Kristin admitted in the book.  

‘It wasn’t until I launched my own company, Uncommon James, that I felt I really found what I was supposed to be doing,’ she said about her jewellery brand.

Reflecting on the pressures of fame, the blonde beauty said that she’s now developed a ‘tough skin,’ but sometimes can feel a little down. 

‘I would be lying if I said it didn’t get to me sometimes,’ Kristin said, saying that her family helps her ‘put things into perspective.’ 

She also added that she initially decided to go back to reality TV to get ‘priceless exposure’ for her brand, which she launched in 2017.

It was revealed earlier this month meanwhile, that the mother-of-three will be returning to The Hills again, for a brief appearance of the MTV reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about her cameo, she said: ‘I don’t know what I can and can’t say. Clearly, I just say always so much, but people expect that from me.’

‘I’m excited! I’m actually very excited,’ Kristin continued. ‘I think it’s going to be fun to go back and see the old gang and, yeah, I’m looking forward to it.’ 

Kristin was on the original version of The Hills for the last two seasons, until the end of the series in 2010.

Her own E! reality show Very Cavallari meant she was unable to appear on the first season of New Beginnings, but this time around she’ll appear as a guest and not a full-time cast member.
